Early Education and Care

Biographical statement

I am a sophomore at Blue Hills. I live in Randolph with my parents and siblings. I play soccer in the fall, softball in the spring, and year-round I am the chair of the High School Democrats of America at BHR.

Career goals

I am in the Early Education and Care program and in the near future, I plan to attend college and study political science or social work with the goal of having an occupation in the government.

What BHR has done for you

BHR has given me a lot of different opportunities such as learning how to become a professional and learning life skills that I can apply anywhere in life. I am acquiring skills that will be useful in the workplace while getting a high school education which I will forever appreciate.

Why you came to BHR instead of your local high school

I came to BHR instead of going to Randolph High because of the opportunities and skills Blue Hills provides.

A quotation that inspires you, or that you live by

“Nevertheless, she persisted.” - Elizabeth Warren. To me, this quotation means that there are going to be obstacles in life that will challenge you, but you can under no circumstances give up, you must always persist.

Your favorite book or movie?

My favorite book is “Zac & Mia”by A.J Betts

Best advice you ever received from a teacher/parent/family member/friend

The best advice I ever received was from my mom who told me to “Be myself because there is no other me.”

Advice that you would give to a grade 8 student applying to BHR

To any eighth grader who is applying to BHR, I would tell him or her to be themselves, and try their hardest because BHR has a lot of opportunities, and you can meet more people from different towns and make new friends.

Teacher or Faculty member at BHR who has helped or inspired you the most

Mrs. McNeill has been quite an inspiration because she made shop really fun for me, and she is always there to celebrate the little things that I accomplish. She has tried her hardest to make lesson plans that will not only be educational but also interesting for me to learn, which makes shop fun.

Who is your hero?

My hero is Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) because he was a strong leader who got the U.S through the Great Depression and served more than two terms as president!

Most memorable moment at BHR

The sports teams that I have been on at BHR have been a really good experience for me because I got to meet new people and make new friends. Also, the Massachusetts High School Democrats (MAHSD) chapter that I started at our school because I got to meet people who also have the same political aspirations as I do and want to get involved.
