Automotive Technology
Program Description
The Auto Repair program’s goal is to produce graduates who can enter the industry as apprentice technicians in repair facilities or factory dealerships upon graduation.
The rigorous four-year curriculum is designed after the NATEF standards, which are part of the Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.) Foundation. The Automotive program is certified in the eight areas available to become master certified. Our Automotive program is also part of AYES, which is the Automotive Youth Educational System, a school-to-career initiative between automotive manufacturers and Blue Hills. It allows our students to job shadow and be mentored by technicians working in vehicle dealerships.
The four-year curriculum covers the gasoline engine and its function, design and construction; tire, wheel and brake service; tune-up procedures; engine diagnosis and repair; fuel injection systems; transmissions, electricity, electronics, and HVAC; and all business aspects of the industry.
